I am shocked that The Hurt Locker is so popular and so critically acclaimed. Really, the only thing it has going for it is the comparative simplicity of plot and characters, as opposed to other contemporary war movies which are generally pretty hard to follow and require the attention span of a higher primate (Jarhead, Black Hawk Down, etc). I love war movies, but Hurt Locker is way at the bottom of my list. It was so boring! If you haven't already, check out Generation Kill, which is fantastic and brilliant and deep and a bunch of other positive adjectives that I would never apply to The Hurt Locker.

Cheers!
